Established in 1994 by our visionary founder, Darrell Fay, our resort's story is one of passion, perseverance, and a love for the great outdoors.

Our journey began when Darrell, captivated by the serene environment and picturesque views of Burntstick Lake, embarked on a mission to create a unique, community-oriented resort. The initial vision of 30 overnight camping sites quickly evolved into a thriving community of yearly campsites. This transition was driven by Darrell's desire to foster a sense of belonging among guests and promote responsible enjoyment of the lake's pristine surroundings.

The foundation of Burntstick Lake Resort is deeply rooted in family values, with Darrell's oldest son, Warren, playing a crucial role in bringing the resort to life. The resort's off-grid location allows guests to immerse themselves in the tranquility of nature, fulfilling Darrell's dream of having a log cabin at the edge of a lake – a dream that he believes many share.

In his own words:
"Who's dream is it not to have a log cabin at the edge of a lake? So I went ahead and did that, ya know? And then I figured out how to share it with others."

After Darrell's well-deserved retirement in 2022, the torch was passed on to two of his children, Warren & Kelsey, who have taken over the management of the resort. They continue to uphold the values and vision that their father instilled in the resort's foundation.
